The Summer Festival Sinfonia is a chamber orchestra formed especially for the University's Summer Festival of Music and features talented musicians from the University and local community. Conducted by Jan Wilke, a postgraduate who studies choral conducting at the University, the Sinfonia presents the winners of the Summer Festival Soloist Competition, Ellie Kendall, playing Flute Concertino by Chaminade, and Lydie Whiteley, playing Strauss's Horn Concerto, along with Mendelssohn's 'Hebrides' Overture, and Schubert's 'Unfinished' Symphony.
